“It is enough to visit mass graves in Igdir to know who committed genocide”

Head of the Azerbaijan International Diaspora Center (IDC) Ismayil Aghayev held a press conference on his visit to Igdir province of Turkey. Aghayev said every year Armenians marked the anniversary of false “Armenian genocide” in April, APA reports. He said IDC held series of events to prevent these falsehoods. Aghayev said within these events they visited Igdir province of Turkey on April 21-23. Azerbaijanis Solidarity Organization, Struggle against the Groundless Armenian Calims, Iravan Turks Solidarity Organization held joint meeting in Alican village of Igdir, said Aghayev. “Thousands of people, including the children of victims of the genocide committed by Armenians attended the meeting. Every family in Igdir had losses as a result of Armenian terror. There are a number of mass graves in this province. It is enough to visit those areas to know who committed the genocide”.
Agayev said the reports that Turkey-Armenia roads were being repaired were not true. He said some purposely discuss the issue on the reopening of Armenia-Turkey borders.

“But we ourselves witnessed all the processes, people of Igdir say the reopening of the borders is impossible. Turkish government also said the borders with Armenia will not be reopened. That’s why we consider that there is no need to discuss this issue,” he said.

Department chief of Literature Institute of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Vagif Arzumanli said Armenians want to draw attention of the whole world to the genocide lie. Arzumanli said Armenians have been functioning for this purpose since 1960 and added that if Turkey admits this claim, Armenians will demand compensation and intensify their territorial claims against Turkey.

Other persons, who attended the visit, expressed their views on the situation in Igdir.
